Don't change what you eat!

Change How You Eat.

Changing how you eat may be difficult for you, but it may be essential to your health and well-being. Note that with the Get Rightsized™ Sizing system, you are not changing what you eat but how you eat. Making small changes over time is a much more sustainable approach than making drastic changes overnight.

You first need to determine what is your current eating style. Are you a person that eats 3 meals a day, or do you prefer snacking throughout the day? Do you do both snack and eat full-size meals? How much are you eating in one sitting?

Many factors affect how much you eat. To change how you eat you need to first analyze your current style of eating. How are you eating today? What are your current portion volume sizes? What times of day are you eating? When do you overeat? What are your favorite eating vessels and utensils? Are you a right-out-of-the-bag eater?

That means starting by measuring the portion size of your regular meals. What dishes are you currently using to give you an idea of how much you typically consume in one sitting? Once you know what your current eating style looks like, it will be easier to determine where and how you can begin making small changes.

Measuring your current food portions will give you an understanding of what you're already eating, and where you need to make adjustments. From there, challenge yourself with smaller portion sizes -- just enough to feel satisfied without feeling overly full. If that's too much effort or too complicated, shrink your eating vessel size first by one size.

You can take some time to measure the size of your portions and think about what a sustainable portion size would look like. You don’t want to be too full, but you should also not feel hungry after each meal either. Think of starting with one realistic change that you can make this week. It may feel like a small step, but it will bring you closer to achieving your health goals. The Get Rightsized™ food portion system will help you achieve this with the tools that you may already have right in your kitchen.

Measure the size of your current portions. Having an accurate assessment will help you make better decisions about your nutrition. Once you have quantified your current eating style, small changes can be made to increase portion sizes in a way that is sustainable for the week ahead.

Imagine if someone told you that you need to unload a truck full of bricks. You probably would be overwhelmed. What if they said that every day you just need to take one brick off the truck? The same task that appeared insurmountable before looks pretty easy, doesn't it?

So start by measuring the size of your current portions and determining what size would be manageable. You can find how to measure your portions on our website. Opt for portions that don’t leave you too full, but still feel satisfied. This is the portion size you should aim for in the first week. It’s okay if that means reducing your current portions a little—you can always add more later!

Making small changes to your eating habits takes practice and patience, but it is achievable. Have faith in yourself that you can make these positive changes and start today. We are here to support you and our Get Rightsized™ tools are here to help you.

Take it one day at a time, and you’ll be amazed by the progress you make. You can do this! Believe in yourself and trust that with dedication and consistency, you will be able to reach your goals. With small steps, it is easier to maintain these changes and create lasting habits.

Although change is hard, it doesn’t have to be. With a little dedication and determination, you can easily create healthier habits and make positive changes that will help you lead a better life.
