Let's Get Rightsized™ Corporations - They can help us Get Rightsized™ and Stay Rightsized!

Healthy Customers - Happy Customers

Corporations that produce our tableware, make and serve food can help us all Get Rightsized™. They are in a unique position to help with portion sizing because they make and serve the food we eat and the tools we use that impact how we eat. These companies can use their knowledge of nutrition, food production, and marketing to change the way they do business that focuses on helping everyone Get Rightsized™. They can make it easier for us to make healthier choices and support our efforts to Get Rightsized™ by making their products customized to our needs, and pre-sized for us.

They all have a role to play in Getting Rightsized™. Manufacturers, restaurateurs, and marketers can help us by making Get Rightsized™ a new way of life, a health-optimized life.

Let's Get Rightsized™

Manufacturers and Marketers Can Help you Succeed!

Shoes and clothes come in many sizes to help us purchase the right item for us, but our dishes only come in a few sizes, and most of them are big. This is an easy change that manufacturers can make to help us Get Rightsized™. They can mark all our dishware and utensils with the size so that we can select the Right Size for us. Restaurants and cafeterias can let us know the Portion Size of their food portions right on their menu for easy Get Rightsized™ choices. They have the power to make a difference in our waistlines and our health. Let's work together to Get Rightsized™.

Two-thirds of Americans are considered to be overweight or obese. This has serious implications for our health, as obesity is a risk factor for many chronic diseases including heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes. The good news is that we can turn this trend around by making healthier choices and losing weight and corporations that helped us to get into this predicament can help us reclaim our bodies.

Take for example dish manufacturers. The average American household has dishes that can hold up to three cups of food, but we only need about one cup. That means we're eating two extra cups of food per meal! If dish manufacturers would make Rightsized™ plates and bowls, it would help us to control our portions and lose weight. If they truly embraced the Get Rightsized™ system and process they would make all the dishware available in incrementally sized sets. Instead of having a dinner plate that can be Size 30, a salad plate, etc. the plates bowls could be available in sizes 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10..., and so on so that a person can just Get the Rightsized™ dish or a bowl and start their Get Rightsized™ Journey with the next meal.

The same goes for serving sizes at restaurants. If we're served smaller multi-sized portions, we'll eat less and ultimately lose weight. Many restaurants and food companies are now offering smaller portion sizes as an option. This allows us to control how much we eat, without having to waste food. Many of them list the calories the portion is but that is not helpful since we have to cut that portion to the size we need. For example, the calories in IHOP pancakes are for 3 pancakes, but what if I only want 1? What is the portion size for 1 and how many calories are in it? can I get just 1?

How can cafeterias and buffets make changes to how they serve?

Imagine ordering a nice steak dinner that's size 10 on a size 10 plate and your partner orders the same in Size 14 on a Size 14 plate. They can make the excess of typically sized 30 meal to go. You both can enjoy the same type of entree that is precisely sized for each of you. They can also offer smaller multi-sized dishware, multisized-portions, and identify the size of their portions and CDM right on the menu. They will save money and food waste and as a result, be able to offer smaller more nutritious entrees for the same price.

Another way that corporations can help us Get Rightsized™ is by providing healthier food options. This can be done by offering more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains and fewer processed foods. When the consumers look at the same size portion and can tell the Caloric Density Mark of the meal they can make an educated decision of what to order or what to buy.

Corporations can also help us Get Rightsized™ by providing more information about the Get Rightsized Portion Size and the Caloric Density Mark. For example, many processed foods contain a lot of hidden sugar and calories that we may not be aware of. If food manufacturers listed the Caloric Density Mark of their products on the packaging, it would make the decision easy. Even if you're comparing candy bars of the same size the CDM will help you make the right decision quickly.

Marketers can also play an important role in helping us Get Rightsized™ by creating marketing campaigns that support healthy eating and Rightsized™ portions. For example, they could create ads that show people enjoying Rightsized™ portions or those that feature celebrities who have lost weight by making the transition to Getting Rightsized™. And supermarkets can mark portion sizes and CDM™ of their offerings.

There are many other ways that manufacturers and marketers can help us Get Rightsized™. For example, they can provide more information on their products regarding portion size. Calories help but we don't taste them.

Some companies now offer frozen fruits and vegetables that are pre-cut and ready to eat. This makes it easy to add them to our meals without having to do any extra work. Can they come in multiple sizes? Large, medium, and small are meaningless to our perception while size 8, 9, or 10 even a first grader can select the right one for them if they know their Get Rightsized™ Size.

One way that manufacturers and marketers can help us Get Rightsized™ is by offering smaller portions. This can be done in several ways including using smaller plates, bowls, and glasses. They can also create portion-pre-sized packaging. They can also promote healthy eating habits that are personalized. This means helping us create a plan that fits our individual needs and lifestyle. They can do this by providing resources and support.

Finally, they can create and support Get Rightsized™ campaigns and initiatives. This can be done by providing funding, resources, and publicity. Get Rightsized™ is a journey and these corporations can help us succeed on our journey to better health.

They have the power to make a difference in our lives. We have the power to change what they produce by requesting products and services that help us Get Rightsized™.
