Let's Get Rightsized™ Pets - help your pets Get Rightsized™ and Stay Rightsized™!

Healthy Pets- Happy Owners

Healthy pets make happy owners. By ensuring our pets are at a healthy weight, we help them live longer, healthier lives. Plus, it's just more fun to play with a pup that isn't out of breath after a few minutes! When we become overweight and less active, our pets suffer the consequences. They become obese, their activity levels drop, their quality of life goes down and their lifespan is shortened. So let's keep our furry friends healthy - it's good for them and good for us!

Let's Get Rightsized™

Optimizing Our Pets' Lives - Will Benefit Us!

Did you know that by keeping our pets healthy, we improve not only their quality of life but also our own? That's right - a healthy pet means a happy owner. And who doesn't want to be happy? There are many benefits to having a healthy pet, including:

 · Improved lifespan - We all want our furry friends to stick around for as long as possible, and by keeping them healthy we can help them do just that.

· More energy - A healthy pet is a playful pet, and that means more fun for us!

· Greater resistance to disease - When our pets are healthy, they're better equipped to fight off sickness and disease.

· Better behavior - A healthy pet is a happier pet, and a happier pet is typically better behaved.

Just like us our pets need to Get Rightsized™ and Stay Rightsized™!

The idea of snacking has not only impacted our lives but the lives of our pets as well. Pets, like people, can become obese if they consume too much food and don’t get enough exercise. In fact, according to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention, over half of all dogs and cats in the United States are overweight or obese.

Carrying around extra weight puts strain on your pet’s organs, bones, and joints and can lead to serious health problems like diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis, and even cancer. Overweight pets are also more likely to suffer from respiratory difficulties and heat intolerance.

"Obesity is the number one health threat pets face, and the most important pet health decision owners make each day is what and how much they feed. "— Dr. Ernie Ward, Founder of petobesityprevention.org

The Global Pet Obesity Initiative recommends that the term obesity be defined as 30% above the pets' ideal body weight. They also recommend that owners use a body condition score (BCS) chart to help assess their pet's weight. The BCS is a 9-point system that rates a pet's body shape and fat distribution. A score of 1 signals severe emaciation, while a score of 5 indicates a healthy weight, and a score of 9 represents morbid obesity.

If your pet falls into the overweight or obese category, you can help your pet Get Rightsized™ by applying the same concepts as we do for ourselves. When your pet comes to you it does not mean that they are always hungry. They crave affection and attention. The label on the pet food packages makes a recommendation based on the weight of your pet. But as your pet gets heavier that recommendation increases which spirals into a more and more overweight pet.

Fortunately, there are things you can do to help your pet slim down and live a healthier life. Feed them a healthy diet, Get Rightsized™ meals, and make sure they get plenty of exercise. You can create a weight loss plan that’s right for your pet.

Get your Veterinarian to help you develop a weight-loss plan for your overweight or obese pet. This should include specific goals for weight loss and an exercise regime that is appropriate for your pet’s age, breed, and health condition. Gradually adjust your pet’s food portion sizes in Bite-Size™ increments for the little ones. Get Rightsized™ system can be used for your pet meals. Check the size of the portion you currently feed your pet. This needs to include the snacks they get throughout the day. Weigh your pet often at the same time of the day so that you make sure that your pet does not lose weight faster than the vet recommends.

Do you want to give the same number of snacks and rewards? -shrink their Bite-Size™ size so that gradually you'll find the Rhightsized™ balance between snacks and their food.

As your pet gradually optimizes its weight you can incrementally increase your pet's activity level. Chances are that you got your pet so that you can get more active and now it's the opportunity to Get Rightsized™ with your pet. Your dog can renew its puppy feeling and you can recoup your childhood energy at the same time.

We have to Get Rightsized™ for the sake of our pets and our well-being. It's a lifestyle change that will pay off in a longer, healthier life for all of us!

So let’s commit to keeping our pets healthy – they deserve it and we will all be happier for it!
